We report on the application of peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) for the treatment of post-traumatic neuralgia of the ulnar nerve. A 56 year-old woman was diagnosed as a post-traumatic neuralgia, now called Complex regional pain syndrome, type 2 (CRPS-2), due to a lesion of the right ulnar nerve. After a successful 5 day trial of PNS, an implantable pulse generator was implanted. After 36 months of follow-up, the patient still experience consistent, excellent pain relief. We think that PNS is effective in the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain following injury to single peripheral nerve distribution.
